Education

Crown Point Public Schools takes pride teaching every student in ways which he or she can best learn, in challenging our students to grow intellectually and socially as much as they can, and in creating and sustaining an environment in which these things can take place. The staff of Crown Point Community School Corporation is experienced, talented, dedicated and committed to the success of each child. Our parents are involved and our community is extremely supportive.

The greater 64 miles that make up the community of Crown Point Community Schools is centered in Crown Point. The 6100 student school district is anchored by the new state-of-the-art Crown Point High School. Elementary students are served by seven schools, and Taft Middle School houses grades seven and eight. Crown Point takes pride in having 85 percent of the professional staff with advanced degrees and over 65 percent with 10 years or more of teaching experience.

Each of the schools substantially exceeds state averages on ISTEP scores, SAT scores, attendance rates and academic competition. The fine arts program is considered one of the best in the Midwest, with students performing at many national conferences and events. Crown Point High School is a member of the highly acclaimed Duneland Athletic Conference and the North Central Association of College and Schools.

In both 2002 and 2003, the Indiana Chamber of Commerce named Crown Point High School the "Best of the Best" in the state, a designation given to only three high schools per year.

From intensive remediation programs to challenging talented and gifted programs, there is personalized instruction for every child who attends Crown Point Community Schools.
